Late night weight training because I want change and have too many excuses.

Late night weight training because change doesn&;t happen without work.Once in a while everybody decides they want to do something different.  Anything different requires change.  They may start and then realize I don’t have the time for it.  I don’t have enough connections, or rich parents, or the right equipment.  I can’t risk doing that right now.

These excuses create the gap between “what you have now”, and “what you would like to have.”

In order to close this gap is to take a minute and listen to your excuses and ask yourself “Is this a good reason for me not to accomplish X?”  We love our excuses.  What is the real reason not to accomplish X?

I don’t have enough time.  A penniless, divorced, severely depressed mother on welfare trying to raise a child while attending school wrote a novel.  And then she wrote 6 more.  Her name? J.K. Rowling and her novels? The Harry Potter series.

You can view obstacles in your life as an opportunity to grow. Be creative to get around your obstacles.  Skip a meal, give up TV.  It can be done.

I’m not good enough.  A man, born in Brooklyn, a sophomore at 5″11, deemed too short and thus didn’t make the cut for the varsity basketball team of his highschool was quoted “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” His name? Michael Jordan.

Everybody at one point of their lives tell themselves they aren’t good enough.  It’s how you decide to try to overcome this thought that moulds you into the person that is good enough.

I’m not qualified enough.  A boy irritated his teacher and unable to follow instructions was told in the early years of life he was “too stupid to learn anything” and fired from jobs for being too unproductive.  He went on to produce 1000 failures.  He did, however, also create the lightbulb.  His Name? Thomas Edison.

We all choose our excuses for one reason or another.  Every excuse should teach you about yourself and guide you towards your future.  Reflect on the excuses you find yourself consistently making and decide why you are using this excuse.  What can you do to change this stream of thought and use it to accomplish your goals?  If you take the time to try this out, you will soon find yourself hoping you catch yourself making excuses as they acknowledge obstacles and create opportunities for the next chapters of your life.  It may be a bit of effort, but you have to work for change.  I’m not telling you its going to be easy, I’m telling you its going to be worth it.
